President Bush might visit India in February. Think Nuclear Energy Stocks!

According to the Indian press, President Bush will visit India in mid-February. Of course, the proposed Civilian Nuclear deal between the two countries will again be in limelight. Bush’s visit should create some interest in Nuclear energy stocks. One thing to remember is that the Civilian Nuclear Treaty that was proposed back in July 2005 during Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Washington still needs Congress approval. However, with so much at stake the treaty should eventually be approved by congress.

To top this off, look at this news: Rice endorses India?s quest for nuclear energy

According to Peter Wells, marketing manager for General Electric company’s nuclear business, we’ll see 29 new plants in China over the next 15 years and 17 new ones in India. We could also see a few plant opening up in the US in next 5 - 10 years.

Two stock that could benefit from this pact are:

1. Usec Inc. - (NYSE: USU)
2. Cameco Corporation - (NYSE: CCJ)
